My home workout, ‘Fitness Beauties’ style

June 29th, 2009
You can do it!

You can do it!

_

I’ve incorporated a MavTV program into my daily workout routine, and I’m pleased to say I’m finally motivated to actually stick to it rather than just sitting in front of this computer screen all day getting fat.

I’m the first to admit I am a connoisseur of beautiful woman, which is a fancy way of saying I like to look at pretty girls. No crime in that, right? But it’s considered rude to stare at a hot girl at your actual gym while she’s doing her thing…

Staring is what “Fitness Beauties” is all about — letting your eyes roam every inch of some young hottie looking so fine wearing her workout gear, her long hair up in a ponytail, her chest heaving and her tanned skin glistening with a layer of sweat as she works it. Even without much make-up on, she’s hot. Oh yeah, you know what I’m talking about! It’s also considered rude (so I’m told) to talk to a girl at your actual gym (as Hilda told us on “Best of the Best 3″: “If a girl is wearing headphones at the gym, don’t bother her. She’s wearing them for a reason.”).

I have to admit, I’ve always had a soft spot for a girl with a flat tummy and round corners. Impressing women like that is the reason we guys work hard to become successful at our jobs and don’t allow ourselves to become the Pillsbury doughboy.

That’s why I’ve started working out at home in front of my TV with “Fitness Beauties” playing! No, I don’t have fancy home gym equipment and I don’t exactly mimic what the girls on screen are doing like you’d normally think of with a workout show. I just use the visual of the girls on the screen as motivation to sweat and work my own muscles (get your mind out of the gutter — I’m talking about doing sit-ups and using weights on a stability ball, simple stuff like that).

I have to admit, I’ve always had a soft spot for a girl with a flat tummy. The girls on “Fitness Beauties” are like Goldilock’s poridge: Fit enough to look amazing but not so buff that they could easily pin you down if you wrestled them in the sack (unless you let them win, ha ha). And most of them look wholesome enough that you could take them home to meet mom. Unlike that icy beauty at your real gym who you aren’t allowed to look at, much less talk to, “Fitness Beauties” actually interviews each girl so we learn something fun about her. The music is also pretty good for working out, which makes sense.

I record “Fitness Beauties” each night on my Tivo and replay it each morning when I awaken and do my basic better-than-nothing workout. It may be stupid, but in my man-logic way it makes perfect sense: watching the hot girls on the show gives me the motivation to push myself hard enough to burn actual calories!

I also use this amazing app on my iPhone, THI Personal Trainer, to come up with the actual workout moves that I do. I’ve started exercising in the morning, even though I’m not a morning person, simply because it fires me up to have more energy throughout the rest of the day. I guess it is that “runner’s high” that you read about or whatever. And you know what they say about the early bird catching the worm.

I’m sure I’d be better off if I was sweating like a pig on a StairMaster at an actual gym, but at least I’m saving some cash on membership fees while enjoying some fine entertainment, MavTV-style. If you’re having trouble sticking to your own home workout, try it the “Fitness Beauties” way. You might like it!

Bikinis and Body Shots are on tap

Join Karla Arce and dozens of other bikini models in tropical Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on "UjENA Bikini Jam" premiering June 15.

There are two new shows premiering on Monday, June 15, on MavTV: “UjENA Bikini Jam” and “Body Shots.”

“UjENA Bikini Jam” reveals the events of UjENA Jam, an annual event held each August in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that attracts bikini models and photographers who compete for prizes and glory. Roughly a hundred models were on hand as MavTV sent a crew to document sexy photo shoots in this exotic land. “UjENA Bikini Jam” will look at the UjENA Swimwear Company, based in California, and the people who have made it their mission to produce hot bikinis for hot women. I’m very excited to see this show, and not just because I was fortunate enough to be one of the guys shooting this one for MavTV. Trust me, bro, those UjENA chicks are HOT!

Speaking of hot women, don’t miss “Body Shots” either — a show that combines my two favorite things: Booze and babes. Despite the eye candy, you’ll actually learn stuff about how your favorite libations are made. A little bit of cleavage makes the medicine go down.

These shows join “Fitness Beauties” and “Bikini AllStars” among MavTV’s women-themed content, which generally airs nightly after 10 p.m. We bring you your daily dose of sexy (yet tastefully non-nude) women. In case you aren’t familiar, “Fitness Beauties” is nothing but good, old fashion girl watching — in this case, hot girls working out at the gym. And “Bikini AllStars” brings you highlights from model photo shoots.

Catch “UjENA Bikini Jam” at 10:30 p.m. on June 15 and again at 4:30 a.m. on June 16. “Body Shots” premieres at 11:30 p.m. on June 15 and encores at 5:30 a.m. on June 16.

You guys understand this and it is definitely appreciated. Please keep up the good work…” – Signed, Dan in Raleigh, N.C.

December 15, 2008 –  MavTV is teaming up with world-famous glamour and fitness photographer, Rob Sims, to expand on one of the network’s goals of offering compelling HD programming that focuses on beautiful women.

Rob Sims will be looking for fresh, new talent to join the network as “Mav Girls” for several series ideas that are currently on the drawing board for 2009.  He will serve as a creative director finding “Mav Girls” to help promote the network’s visibility and add to the stable of original HD programming content targeting men.

“MavTV is excited to have Rob Sims commitment to find us top models that want to help us promote our brand and draw attention to the HD original programming content produced by our company in a variety of different genres targeting men.  Rob is a powerhouse in the world of glamour and bikini model photography, so attractive talent seeks him out.  Using Rob’s photography skills and contacts will help the MavTV brand build on our ability to entice great looking women into shows on the network to both promote the brand and our original series,” said Steve Severn, CEO of MavTV.

As MavTV broadens its original series lineup centered around motorsports, ultimate fighting, gadgets, comedy and beautiful women, Sims will add over 20 years of experience and a keen ability to find, train, and shoot top models.  Each year, Sims shoots more than 25 magazine covers and 3,000 pages for some of the world’s top publications.

“If viewers want to get up close and personal with my models, HD is the only way to truly see it and MavTV will become an excellent showcase for my work,” said Sims.  “No other cable network is committed to searching out and shooting the hottest models, so I am really looking forward to helping MavTV give men more of what they really want to see in a Maxim style format.”

Sims will add a new dimension to MavTV’s current female-focused series offerings such as “Bikini Allstars,” “Best of the Best,” and “Fitness Beauties,” as well as participating in the creation of additional reality shows offering viewers behind-the-scenes action and personal interviews with the models.
